Maggie Hall (b. Calgary)
Maggie Hall creates large scale paintings that transform pop cultural imagery through a meticulous CMYK dot process using hundreds of thousands of hand applied circles. Her works begin with AI prompting and digital collage but become grounded in physical labour, turning nostalgic subjects into emotionally charged scenes.
Her imagery draws on memory while revealing tension beneath glossy surfaces, shaped by a repetitive method developed during motherhood and the loss of her father. Hall is expanding her practice toward controlled environments that integrate scale, atmosphere and narrative with a focus on tactility. Her work is held in private collections across North America. It will be presented with Ryan Green Gallery at Art Miami in December 2025 and in Venice in 2026 during the Biennale.
